His roles gaining importance in the early 2020s, he played the lover of Anamaria Vartolomei in The Event, a young police recruit with little involvement in The Night of the 12th and a researcher adversary and then ally of Ella Rumpf in The Theorem of Marguerite (which earned her the chance to compete in the Revelations category at the 2024 César Awards).

Julien also takes part in the diptych The Three Musketeers, in the role of Gaston de France, the brother of the King of France. Two feature films allowing him to reunite with another key pillar of the Comédie-Française: the charismatic Eric Ruf, who plays Cardinal Richelieu.

But it is on television that the Belgian delivers his most striking performances. After taking part in the period series La Révolution for Netflix and playing the haughty aristocrat Alexis Clairet de Granval in Tapie (led by Laurent Laffite, also a resident of the Comédie-Française), he plays one of the main characters from the Sambre mini-series.

In this six-episode program centered on the infamous rapist Dino Scala (played by the chilling Jonathan Turnbull), Julien plays a particularly incompetent police officer, who bears his share of responsibility for the fact that the criminal was able to act for so long with complete impunity .
