Depending on the Galaxy S23 model, Samsung will integrate a more or less advanced cooling system.
A few weeks before the expected launch of the Galaxy S23, new information comes to us about the technical data sheet of the smartphones in the series.
Not all in the same boat against the heat
The Korean leaker OreXda, very active in commenting on leaks around the Galaxy S23, claims to know the cooling systems that Samsung will use on its next flagships. These would be similar to those of the Galaxy S22. According to him, the classic Galaxy S23 will not be entitled to any particular cooling system.
The Galaxy S23 + should bet on heat pipes, pipes that work thanks to the principle of heat transfer. Finally, the Galaxy S23 Ultra would be equipped with the best cooling equipment with a vapor chamber, a device found on some high-end or gaming-oriented smartphones.
The source also reports that the Galaxy S23s will feature two different versions of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, based on an etching process from TSMC. On this generation, we will not have an Exynos chip, even in Europe. An Exynos 2300 should however see the light of day, but to propel other smartphones.
Video capture in 8K at 30 fps
According to OreXda, which confirms information from the renowned Ice Universe, the Galaxy S23 series will be able to shoot in 8K quality at 30 fps, against 8K at 24 fps for the Galaxy S22 series. This development is made possible by the transition to all Snapdragon. The Galaxy S22s with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 could also claim 8K at 30 fps, but in terms of software, they were restricted by Samsung to offer the same services as the S22s with Exynos 2200, limited to 24 fps in this definition from a material point of view.
The leaker adds that the Galaxy S23 Ultra screen will be able to support the playback of videos in 8K definition at 60 fps with HDR support. He believes that the Galaxy S23 and S23+ could also benefit from it, but cannot say for sure.
