While the Galaxy S24 Ultra is about to benefit from a photo update, all models in this series of Samsung smartphones are entitled to a new layer of protection: the May 2024 security patch.
Until then, this new patch package was available in the United States for subscribers to the T-Mobile operator. A wider deployment in other regions of the world should follow in the coming days. According to the site SamMobile, “some users complained about a drop in battery life after the previous update, but it doesn’t appear that the new one brings any improvements other than the latest security patches”.
For your information, the May 2024 security patch includes 33 Android fixes provided by Google, and 12 others by Samsung, inherent to Galaxy devices.
The South Korean explains in a blog post that one of the fixed flaws is considered high severity, while the other 11 are classified as moderate.
We learn that some allowed malicious people to bypass the phone activation process, access information in the app in use, capture photos without authorization or even restart the smartphone.
