Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra: 3 important improvements – including integrated AI – and one drawback

The launch of Samsung’s new high-end smartphone, the S24, will only take place in a few weeks. But a few leaks over the weekend give us a glimpse of some of its highlights.

First of all, the camera has been improved. While the S23 had one of the best cameras available, photos sometimes looked oversaturated with unrealistic colors. Courtesy of Sondesixa reliable source, we now know that the S24 Ultra will benefit from improved image saturation and sharpening, resulting in a much more realistic finish to the visuals.

Sondesix also gave some hints on colors and materials, saying the titanium gray version of the device was “much better” than the iPhone equivalent. Of course, it’s subjective, but it’s certainly encouraging for potential customers to know that the device will have the air top of the line. Sondesix added that the smartphone – because it is flatter than its predecessor – feels much nicer to hold.

8 GB of RAM?

However, the biggest news comes in the form of artificial intelligence-related features. The Galaxy S24 would take full advantage of artificial intelligence in local mode. According to available information, Samsung’s new phone will use artificial intelligence to generate images, write content such as emails and messages, translate texts and recognize voices.

A leak coming from Ahmed Qwaider also allows you to know a little more about the phone screen. Not only will the device achieve 2,600 nits, but it will use a new glass, Gorilla Glass Victue 2, the strongest glass made by Corning. If this brightness is proven, it would place Samsung clearly ahead of Google’s Pixel Pro and the 1,500 nits of Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro Max.

MysteryLupin has tempered this enthusiasm a bit, however, saying that the base version of the S24 will only have 8 GB of RAM. The Plus and Ultra versions upgrade to 12GB, but the base model’s RAM is surprisingly low. That’s in line with the RAM on the Google Pixel 8 and above what’s on the iPhone 15, but these smartphones don’t promise onboard AI like the S24 does. It is therefore questionable whether the base model will have enough RAM to run everything.

MysteryLupin also showed off some of the color options available, including the standard gray and black, but also purple and yellow — all of which will have much fancier names when the devices release.

The S24 is expected to go on sale in mid-January 2024.
