Sarah Ferguson (63) is currently recovering from an operation surrounded by her family, according to a spokesman for the Duchess of York according to “BBC.com”.. The 63-year-old was previously diagnosed with breast cancer. Prince Andrew’s ex-wife, 63, was diagnosed after a routine mammogram, it said.
Her spokesman said, according to the report, “She was advised to undergo surgery, which was successfully performed.” She receives “the best medical care” and is now recovering with her family. The operation took place a few days ago at King Edward VII’s Hospital, a private clinic in central London. Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022), who died in September, and other high-ranking members of the royal family had previously been treated there.

Sarah Ferguson is said to have returned home to Windsor after the weekend’s surgery, where she is now recovering, BBC.com reports. In a statement, her rep expressed the Duchess’ “great thanks to all the medical staff who have supported her over the past few days.” She was “symptom-free” before the screening. The Duchess believes “her experience underscores the importance of regular screening,” according to the statement.
The Duchess of York and Prince Andrew, one of King Charles III’s brothers (74), divorced in 1996 after ten years of marriage. However, they are said to remain very close and live under one roof at the Royal Lodge in Windsor. The ex-couple have two daughters – Princess Beatrice, 34, and Princess Eugenie, 33 – and three grandchildren.
