Satisfactory Update 6: AI, new resources and biome improvements

Still in Early Access on the Epic Games Store, Satisfactory is releasing its new update, Update 6. Recently available in beta on the Experimental version, this new update brings a lot of content. Or rather, improvements and fixes to pre-existing content.

Changes to Creatures, AI and Improvements

Several changes impact creatures. Some are rather graphical, but there is also a deep improvement in the AI that handles the behavior. Regarding the Flying Choughs, you will have to destroy the spawner to stop the waves of monsters.

For Spitters, three new variants are highlighted. Its AI is revised to better manage areas, whether or not players flee, and other elements. But this is only the beginning, to see what it will give next.

Note, however, that the changes also impact the resources you can obtain from monsters.

Evolution of biomes on Satisfactory Update 6

On the biome side, the paradisiacal islands of the cliff of the needles are getting a makeover. It is a narrow zone, but which allows you to use a certain verticality. The oil wells have moved but are still easy to find with the appropriate map.

The Marais also benefits from new vegetation, which corresponds to its revisited atmosphere. In these two areas, the gameplay is not yet perfectly adapted, so we will have to wait before we can really enjoy it 100%.

Skies and weather in general have been improved, allowing for effects that are better suited to different biomes. This is also an opportunity to improve natural lighting.

Research and progress

A first novelty concerning the progression, and therefore the elements that you can obtain as your adventure progresses, is the addition of different types of ammunition. They arrive with new adapted weapons. It’s up to you to take advantage of the fragmentation Nobelisk, rifle seekers, or even a small nuclear bomb. Just that.

Along the same lines, the tools you hold will be easier to manage. Whether in the interface, or simply through new locations. In this idea, virtually all body equipment can be placed simultaneously. Only the Jetpack, the Hoverpack and the parachute will have to be changed depending on your situation.

Progression in MAM

Additions from Satisfactory Update 6 were integrated into MAM progression, which impacted the location of other craftable items. Another major modification simply concerns the addition of alternative energy sources in this progression.

Your adventure will be less limited in general. In any case, it should only change the way you play if you are not interested in it.

Other Update 6 Improvements

From now on, the map will be unlocked from level 1. New markers replace the beacons and icons are integrated, as well as an interactive menu. The objective is to make it more practical, more visible.

Radar Towers also bring new features. They will reveal and highlight the resources and information about the rewards to be obtained in the area.

The to-do list can now be accessed from any menu and will now allow the addition of personal notes, for you or for your playmates.

The recipe section of the Codex will provide much more information than before. All recipes will be able to show the rate per minute of all ingredients and products. It will also be possible to simulate the overclocking to see the effects obtained on the recipe as well as on the raw materials required.

Backup by stratum

A change impacting saves is also Update. Rather than a continuous loading, the latter will be carried out by stratum, by stage. The idea is to be able to add possibilities later, without speeding up, slowing down, or even improving (or not) game performance. Nothing alarming for players!

This still means that saves from Update 6 will not be backwards compatible. Take care of your files!
