According to the current status, Schleswig-Holstein is offering tourists a summer holiday in 2021 on the North and Baltic Seas.

Schleswig-Holstein is planning further opening steps for gastronomy and tourism. Prime Minister Daniel Günther (47) announced this at a press conference on May 5th. Among other things, after a discussion with experts, the decision was made to have a new ordinance come into force on May 17th.

The prerequisite for this is a continued stable situation with the infection process or a decrease in the number of corona cases. In Schleswig-Holstein the nationwide incidence value was most recently 54.5. “We have steadily falling numbers now” and “a stable infection situation for several months”, explained Günther.

This is then allowed nationwide

Under strict conditions, citizens who have tested negative, vaccinated and recovered will be allowed to stay overnight in holiday apartments, hotels or campsites across the country from May 17th. For many, this would make summer vacation possible on the North and Baltic Seas. And the interior of restaurants should also be reopened subject to conditions for five people from up to two households each. Outdoor dining is already allowed in regions with incidences below 100.

In general, strict hygiene rules apply: Tourists have to be tested for the corona virus every three days during their stay. With these opening steps, the rules previously applicable to individual model regions will be extended to the state.
