Even if the keyboard/mouse combo is undoubtedly the most practical for FPS, PC gaming is not limited to doom-like and you can very well launch platform games, racing, sports or any other gender. A good gaming peripheral is therefore essential and Scuf promises, in all modesty “the best control experience for PC gamers” thanks to the Envision pad, the manufacturer’s latest controller designed in partnership with Corsair“. This collaboration made it possible, among other things, to equip the Envision Pro controller with the Corsair Slipstream communication protocol which, according to the manufacturer, provides “ultra-fast, gaming-quality wireless speed for Slipstream Wireless peripherals, with latency that can drop to less than 1 ms for mice and keyboards.
Much more prosaically, the Scuf Envision Pro controller adopts a very classic architecture with a directional cross on the left, a quartet of buttons on the right and two analog sticks in the center of the pad. We are therefore faced with a configuration reminiscent of Sony’s Dualshock/Dualsense controllers; a risky bet because PC players are more used to handling Xbox pads on which the cross and the stick on the left side are reversed. However, Scuf’s few additions could convince the most reluctant. Because if the four paddles on the back of the controller are nothing exceptional, the two SAX keys, placed on the sides of the pad are much less common. In addition, the front buttons as well as the directional cross use OMRON mechanical connectors to improve responsiveness.
Finally, five “G” keys, placed on the front edge of the Envision Pro, are fully configurable; players will therefore be able to associate any function with these buttons, whether it be an in-game action (change aiming mode, jump, open the map, etc.) or less contextual functions (increase or reduce the sound volume, take a screenshot, open the microphone…). In total, Scuf promises 11 fully configurable keys.
Like what the DualSense Edge from PlayStation or the Raikiri Pro from RoG offer, among others, the Scuf Envision Pro can be configured in its smallest depths using Corsair iCUE software. Behavior of the sticks, definitions of the dead zone, adjustments of the trigger action zone, remapping of the buttons… Obviously, several profiles can be saved on PC but also directly on the controller, so as not to have to launch iCUE unnecessarily.

All these features make Bertrand Chevalier say that “Before Envision, gamers had to make do with limited performance, with controllers that weren’t optimized for PC gaming. Now, with Envision, they benefit from enhanced control and reduced response times on a PC-specific platform“; an assertion full of humility.
The Envision Pro controller is already available and you have to part with €200 to equip it. Note that an Envision pad, sold for €150, is also planned. This version lacks the Corsair SlipStream feature.
