Scump wants CDL to return to CWL format

Despite his recent Major 1 victory, Call of Duty legend Seth “Scump” Abner recently appealed to the CDL demanding a return to the popular CWL format.

With OpTic Texas’ victory at Major 1 in the Call of Duty League, Scump is coming off their 30th professional competition in 10 different CoDs.

The team dominated the event by going through the entire bracket phase without losing a single soundtrack, but they were not rewarded in the finals for accomplishing this feat.

OpTic’s only advantage for completing this course was only a veto on a map.

And this system, the professional players of the CDL can’t take it anymore, and recently, Scump launched an appeal asking for a return to the CWL format for the finals of the competitions.

Scump wants Best-of-5 finals in CDL

During his first stream since winning the Major 1, Scump watched his team’s journey to the final.

And when a fan asked him about the Finals format and not having an edge over FaZe, the CoD veteran didn’t hold back.

I feel like there must be some sort of advantage in the final… A veto is all we have. There is literally almost no benefit.

Indeed, Scump does not understand how the CDL can consider it an advantage simply to have a veto on a card.

This is why Scump (along with many other pro players) wants the CDL to adopt the CWL format, in which the finals were played Best-of-5, but the Loser Bracket team had to win twice. the series to become champion.

The team that comes from the Winner Bracket should be eliminated twice.” explains Scump before adding that he would like to see the BO5 format return and that “a lot of people want the finals to be played in two Best-of-5s, too.

Unfortunately for players and fans, with the CDL season already underway, it seems unlikely to see a mid-year format change.

However, the pros seem determined to make this issue heard, and a return to the old format could possibly occur next season.
