How to change the name of your ship in Sea of Thieves?
If you are one of those wishing change the name of their boat on Sea of Thieves, be aware that the option is unfortunately not available for free. If we are all able to name our ship without spending a single penny except gold on acquisition, changing the name of the ship, at present, will require you to spend your Ancient coins, or euros.
Indeed, when you go to the menu dedicated to your ships, and you click on the place to rename it, it is specified that you need a special act, the ” Renaiming Deed “. This can only be purchased via the Pirate Emporium shop, which offers it to you for the sum of 499 Ancient coins, or 5.99 euros. Renaming your boat will not delete your progress.
You will therefore have to choose carefully the first time you name your ship, to avoid spending your Ancient coins afterwards. Also, remember to use a correct name, so you don’t get banned. Note that the boat name cannot contain any numbers.
However, over time, players may unlock a free name change. In the meantime, we remind you that the purchase of the ship allows you to become Captain, offering you new activities, more or less important. You can, for example, delegate the sale of your treasure, own a Captain’s journal or decorate your ship.
