Sean Connery: his first James Bond pistol goes up for auction

The pistol, with which actor Sean Connery defended himself in the first spy film "James Bond – 007 chasing Dr. No", will be auctioned.

The pistol with which the Scottish actor Sean Connery (1930-2020) defended himself as agent 007 in the first Bond film "James Bond – 007 Chasing Dr. No" (1962) is being auctioned by the Californian auction house "Julien's Auctions" . The Walther PP handgun is the heart of this auction round. According to the organizer, the silhouette of this prop became the iconic key image for the character of James Bond. The pistol is valued at "150,000 to 200,000 dollars" (the equivalent of about 127,000 to 169,000 euros), as the auction house announced in Los Angeles on Monday, according to "The Hollywood Reporter".

Sean Connery died on October 31st at the age of 90 in the Bahamas. He was the first James Bond actor and played the British secret agent a total of seven times between 1962 and 1983.
