Court officially dismisses rape charges

Now the legal dispute is officially over: The court in New York has dismissed Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura (37)’s lawsuit against her ex-partner Sean “Diddy” Combs (54). This is reported by the US portal “TMZ”, citing the official court documents. Accordingly, the case ended in court on Monday (November 20th). The letter states: “Pursuant to an agreement between the parties, plaintiff hereby dismisses this action without prejudice and without costs or fees to either party.”
An “amicable” agreement was reached on Friday
It was already clear on Friday that there would be no court case between the former couple. “TMZ” had reported that that Combs and Ventura had agreed to an out-of-court settlement – just hours after the singer filed a civil lawsuit alleging abuse, rape and assault in New York federal court.
Cassie said in a statement about the settlement: “I have decided to resolve this matter amicably, on terms that are within my reasonable control. I would like to thank my family, my fans and my lawyers for their unwavering support. ” Diddy, who previously vehemently denied the allegations through a lawyer, said in a short comment almost word for word: “We have decided to settle this matter amicably. I wish Cassie and her family all the best. With love.”
According to media reports, the lawsuit accused the musician of, among other things, “inducing Ventura into a drug-fueled lifestyle and into a romantic relationship with him.” Ventura claimed that Combs exercised “power and influence” over her throughout their professional and romantic relationship. According to the report, the lawsuit also states that Ventura is still under “immense emotional stress” and has also required inpatient treatment. According to the report, she is demanding compensation payments of an undisclosed amount.
Sean Combs denied all allegations
Ben Brafman, Combs’ attorney, said: “Mr. Combs vehemently denies these disgusting and outrageous allegations.” The statement added that Ventura had allegedly demanded $30 million from Combs in recent months under the threat of writing a book about their relationship, which was dismissed as “obvious blackmail.” “Although Ms. Ventura has retracted her original threat, she is now filing a lawsuit riddled with baseless and outrageous lies aimed at damaging Mr. Combs’ reputation and seeking money.”
