Sega America plans next wave of layoffs – Gamosaurus

The year 2024 continues and the news of layoffs continues. This time it is Sega America’s side to opt for restructuring. And no less than 61 employees should be laid off at the beginning of March.

The company has not made the news of these layoffs official. However, this is far from being a simple rumor since the information spread following the publication of a Californian WARN – Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act notice. A legal obligation which allows employees to be notified of a future dismissal 60 days before it takes effect.

Thus two separate layoffs of 12 and 49 employees should take place on March 8. The company’s departments targeted are those of quality assurance and localization. News in line with Sega’s past announcement of its desire to outsource these two tasks.
