Sentenced to one year in prison for violence against his wife, he also murdered their 3-year-old son

Vincent Person was sentenced to twelve months in prison for violence and harassment towards his ex-girlfriend. A short sentence before his trial for the murder of his son.

This Monday, June 7, 2021, Vincent Person was sentenced to 1 year in prison by the Brest criminal court for having violated, harassed and defrauded his ex-partner, reports The Telegram. A “trifle” according to the newspaper, because this man who could not stand the separation committed the unthinkable: slaughtering his 3-year-old son on June 24, 2019 in Plounéventer (29). Vincent Person admitted at the time that he had stabbed his son several times in the throat. Presented to the prosecution, the man had been indicted and imprisoned.

Three months before this murder, his former companion had to face a real hunt. Vincent Person thus sometimes went to see her to insult her. And she received nearly 50 messages a day on her phone as well as a dozen calls. “He promises to ‘kill’ her and her new mate”, can we read on the website of Telegram.

In his defense, the man said that “It was cinema, I wanted to crack her. I was doing that to obtain full custody of my child”. But the relatives of the young woman and the small victim felt a deep discomfort hearing these words, as did the courtroom. “Cinema? The beatings, the insults and everything it took from me is comedy?”, launched in a cry of despair the bruised mother.

The infanticide will be tried in another assize trial, the date of which has not yet been set.
