Serena Williams has decided to end her sports career. But she shouldn’t get bored away from the tennis court either.
Serena Williams (40) wants to end her tennis career. The athlete has won 23 Grand Slam tournaments in singles, she should according to Forbes have a net worth of $260 million. But now a new chapter is about to begin.
Like Williams in Vogue announces that she now wants to concentrate on the family – and expand it. Her four-year-old daughter Olympia has long wanted a sibling, Williams explains. And she can understand them: “I am the youngest of five sisters myself and my sisters are my heroines.”
Not an easy farewell – and not a fair one
Saying goodbye is not easy for her. She thinks it is unfair that as a woman she has to choose between family and tennis. “If I were a man I wouldn’t be writing this because I would be out there playing and winning while a woman is physically expanding the family. Maybe I would be like Tom Brady if I had that opportunity. “
While she will sorely miss the sport, her focus has slowly shifted to Serena Ventures, her investment firm. It now holds six employees. Serena Ventures has already founded 16 companies, including Impossible Foods and Noom. “Each morning I get so excited to walk down the stairs to my office, hop on Zoom conferences, and review the companies we’re looking to invest in,” Williams enthuses.

Serena Williams has also been running a clothing line called “S by Serena” for years. The studied fashion designer brought out her first own collection in 2003. Her first jewelry collection was also released in 2019 – Duchess Meghan (41) was recently photographed with earrings from it.
The athlete is also enthusiastic about writing books. A children’s book by the tennis star, inspired by her daughter Olympia and her beloved doll Qai Qai, is due to be released this September.
In addition, a cooperation with Amazon Prime is planned, as reported by “Deadline”.. The tennis champion will be collaborating with Amazon Studios on television projects that follow Williams’ professional and personal life. Among other things, a documentary series is planned.
