LHunting accidents are repeated with constancy. A woman was killed by a shot from her companion hunter, during a wild boar hunt, in the Côtes-d’Armor, on October 16. The same day, a bullet lodged in the cabin of a child, without hurting him, in Haute-Savoie. This weekend of Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 October, other hunting accidents occurred. In Anjou, in particular, a group of cyclists was the victim of lead shots from a hunter who was in a field, near the road on which they were riding their mountain bikes, reports West France.

The events took place on Sunday. Seven cyclists, including a child who accompanied her father, were strolling quietly in Gennes-Val-de-Loire (Maine-et-Loire) when they crossed the road of this hunter. There was no sign saying “hunting in progress”, so they didn’t suspect anything. Then a shot rang out.

A cyclist was shot in the stomach

Three cyclists, including the underage girl, received weights. Two in the helmet, while another was hit in the stomach.

In shock, the victims decided to go and explain themselves to the hunter and filmed his reaction. “They went to meet him, but the hunter seemed to minimize the facts. He was old and we even wonder if he had the right thinking and the right reflexes to hunt, “testified the child’s mother, to West France. The video was posted on social media and was quick to create waves of outraged reactions. Note that three complaints were filed and an investigation opened.

Another cyclist injured in Ille-et-Vilaine

At least two other hunting accidents occurred this weekend. Sunday, in Menskirch, in Moselle, a 72-year-old hunter was injured during a beat. He was hit in the thigh and his vital prognosis is not engaged, reports The Lorraine Republican.
