Liam Payne has to recover from a severe kidney infection and has therefore canceled concerts.

Liam Payne (29) had to deliver sad news to his fans last Friday: “It is with a heavy heart that I have to tell you that we have no choice but to postpone my upcoming South American tour,” he explains in an Instagram post.

“For the past week I’ve been in the hospital with a serious kidney infection, it’s something I wouldn’t wish on anyone and the doctors’ orders are that I must now rest and recover,” he wrote in a clip he personally and visibly sadly addresses his fans with an apology for the canceled concerts.

Tickets will be refunded

In the video message, he explains that he’s been feeling “a little bad lately” and ended up in the hospital with a kidney infection. He then began rehearsals for the tour, which was scheduled to kick off on September 1st in Lima, Peru. But he was advised not to travel and to recover first.

The former One Direction member explained under the post that he was so looking forward to playing for the audience. “To everyone who bought tickets: I’m so sorry. We are working to reschedule the tour as soon as possible, but for now we will be refunding the tickets – so please keep an eye out for updates from your point of sale. Thanks as always for the love and support and I look forward to seeing you again soon.” The tour would have taken Payne to Bogotá, Buenos Aires or São Paulo, among other places.
