Severe thunderstorms: 19 departments placed on orange vigilance

Ihe meteorological situation remains unstable over almost the entire country. The violent storms, which hit the West and the Paris region this weekend, continue. Monday, June 19, Météo-France placed 19 departments on orange vigilance for violent storms, in its 4 p.m. bulletin, four more (Meuse, Meurthe-et-Moselle, Moselle and Vosges) than at the start. of day.

“Storms of moderate intensity are currently rising over the Center. New storms with a more violent character are expected this afternoon on an axis going from Poitou-Charentes to Champagne then reaching Lorraine in the evening,” specifies Météo-France.

42 departments on yellow alert

“The most violent storms are expected in the departments placed on orange vigilance this afternoon, but locally strong thunderstorms are nevertheless possible in the neighboring departments, placed on yellow vigilance”, continues Météo-France, which has placed 42 departments in yellow vigilance.
