Four turns into three in "Sex and the City". Sarah Jessica Parker announced that the role of Kim Cattrall will not be replaced.

Much is still unclear how the planned new season of the successful series "Sex and the City" will tie in with the old episodes and movies. Ironically, the main actress Sarah Jessica Parker (55) gave in a short interview with the "TMZ" portal that the character of Samantha Jones will not be replaced. It was previously announced that actress Kim Cattrall (64) will definitely no longer be part of the party.

Parker says no other role will fill the gap. Parker previously made it clear in an Instagram post that she would miss Cattrall. "We loved her so much," she commented in response to her announcement of the new season. Speculations that she doesn't like her colleague are not true: "I never said that. I never would."

Kim Catrall: No means no

Cattrall itself made it clear a few years ago that it would no longer be available for a "Sex and the City" continuation. In a conversation with the British "The Guardian", for example, the actor said in the summer of 2019: "I went beyond my limits in the role of Samantha Jones because I loved 'Sex and the City'." It was a blessing for her in many ways, but after the second film in 2010 she finally had enough of it: "No means no."

The new season with the nickname "And just like that …" is based on the book "Sex and the City" by Candace Bushnell (62) and the original TV series created by Darren Star (59). "The series will accompany Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte on their way from the complicated reality of life and friendship in their 30s to the even more complicated reality of life and friendship in their 50s," reads the content of the new episodes. The film will be shot in New York in late spring.
