Sex Education: an actress leaves the Netflix series before season 4

Before season 4 of Sex Education, one of the actresses of the Netflix series has decided to jump ship. She explains that she is leaving for new opportunities.

The band of Sex Education loses a new member. A few months ago, Simone Ashley, who plays Olivia Hanan, announced that she would not be present in season 4 of the Netflix series. The actress has indeed privileged her role as Kate Sharma in another successful series of the platform, The Bridgerton Chronicle.

Sex Education fans will therefore no longer see Ruby’s best friend (Mimi Keene) and Anwar (Chaneil Kular) in future episodes of the series. But they will also have to cross out another character.

New start of Sex Education

Sex Education audiences will have to bid farewell to Ola! Its interpreter Patricia Allison announced on Capital EXTRA radio that she will not be present either in season 4 of Sex Education. The actress said that she wanted to devote herself to other projects:

“I loved being in Sex Education and I loved playing Ola so much, but unfortunately I won’t be joining the team for Season 4. I’m so sorry to have to tell you guys this, but I’ll just do other things. Other opportunities presented themselves.”

Introduced in the first season, Ola was the girlfriend of Otis (Asa Butterfield). She is also the daughter of Jakob, the new companion of Jean (Gillian Anderson), the mother of Otis. Over the seasons, Ola eventually found love with goofy character Lily (Tanya Reynolds).

We do not yet know what will be the stakes of season 4 of Sex Education but it will be necessary to explain why Ola and Olivia are no longer around. No release date has yet been announced on Netflix, but filming for season 4 of Sex Education is expected to begin this summer.
