Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened unveils its agonizing first trailer and opens its Kickstarter

The Ukrainian studio Frogware has been living through a most complicated period for months, with the war ravaging the country. But the work continues within the teams, with a new project described as being on a smaller scale. It turns out that this project is none other than Sherlock Holmes: The Awakenedwhich picks up young Sherlock from Chapter One to integrate it into this remake of the 2006 game. The title was made official last week, and we discover a first trailer to immerse ourselves in the atmosphere.

An already successful Kickstarter campaign

Sherlock and Watson will therefore live an adventure like the others in this remake, which will take place in particular in the bayous of New Orleans, in addition to other places to visit. The mood promises to be somber, with heaps of references to the Chtulhu mythos.

But to carry out this project, the studio needs its community. A Kickstarter was launched recently, asking for just over $70,000 to finalize the game. The studio’s fans have already mobilized and the campaign has already achieved its primary goal, raising nearly $100,000 at the time of writing these lines.

The studio has also published a video that explains how the teams live in these difficult conditions, explaining a little better the needs of a campaign like this.

Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened Remake will release on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Switch, and PC on an as-yet-unknown date, but not until mid-2023 at the earliest.
