FKA twigs accuses ex-boyfriend Shia LaBeouf of sexual and emotional abuse and goes to court. The actor apologizes.

Actor Shia LaBeouf (34, "Transformers") apparently has to answer in court one more time. His ex-girlfriend FKA twigs (32, "Honey Boy") is said to have filed a lawsuit against him in Los Angeles. The allegation: "Merciless abuse" during their relationship in 2019, reports "The New York Times". The musician accused the actor of sexual abuse, bodily harm and causing emotional distress.

"What I went through with Shia was the worst thing I have ever been through in my entire life," FKA twigs is quoted as saying by the newspaper. The British singer is said to have sued the actor for unspecified damages. According to the report, she plans to donate part of the sum to charities that campaign against domestic violence. "I don't think people would ever think something like this would happen to me," said the 32-year-old. "But I think that's the thing. It can happen to anyone."

Shia LaBeouf shows remorse

What does the accused LaBeouf say about his ex-girlfriend's serious allegations? An email to The New York Times revealed that he did not deny the allegations. Although he claims "many of these allegations are not true", he does not want to and cannot absolve himself of any guilt. He owes FKA twigs the opportunity to "make their statements public" and ready to "take responsibility for the things I have done".

LaBeouf continues: "I have no excuses for my alcoholism or my aggression, just rationalizations. I have abused myself and everyone around me for years. I have a past in which I loved the people who were closest to me. I am ashamed of this story and I feel sorry for those I have hurt. "

According to his own account, the 34-year-old is in therapy and "a sober member of a 12-step program". He doesn't see himself as cured, but he is "determined to do what I have to do to get well".

No innocent lamb

Most recently, in October this year, it became known that LaBeouf had been charged with assault and petty theft. He allegedly attacked a man in June and stole a cap, the Los Angeles Times reported at the time. The actor was briefly arrested in 2014 and 2017 for causing a public uproar while drunk.
