After just one season of “The Rookie: Feds,” the spin-off with Niecy Nash is over. ABC has canceled the spin-off of the popular series “The Rookie”. While “The Rookie” Season 6 was confirmed back in April 2023, the fate of “Feds” was unclear until now.
During the scriptwriters’ and actors’ strike, the main cast was still contractually bound, so a season 2 was not yet ruled out. But ultimately, low ratings and poor viewer ratings probably killed the series (via TVLine).
Due to the frequent crossovers with the parent show “The Rookie”, it is a little surprising that ABC is canceling the series. Clearly a lot was hoped for from the new spin-off. However, it is not ruled out that the characters from “The Rookie: Feds” will make a guest appearance in “The Rookie” again.
Due to the strikes, it is also possible that “The Rookie” season 6 will have significantly fewer episodes than we are used to from previous seasons. However, there is still no official information about how many episodes the new season will have.
