Winter is on its last legs – so it's high time to slowly grapple with the new season. We'll tell you which shoe trends you can look forward to in spring 2021.

Are you already fed up with the cold season and ready to swap the heavy winter boots for lighter models? We still have to hold out a little (which is actually not so difficult for us given the cool combat boots and overknee boots). Since anticipation is known to be the greatest joy, we are already giving you a small preview of the ultimate shoe must-haves for the upcoming spring – and thus a lot of input for your next shopping list.

Chunky loafers

The past year went by chunky and something of chunky continues. So if you want to play at the top when it comes to trends, you will again rely on chunky soles in 2021. In addition to well-known friends such as sandals and sneakers, there is a new – extremely promising – player in the coming spring: the chunky loafer. Prada, Louis Vuitton and Chanel have already celebrated it in their shows and even the fashionistas can no longer do without the fashionable newcomer. Everything you need to know about the Loafer 2.0: The sole is nice and chunky and the material is noble. Cool prints or glitter bars provide that extra wow factor – anything is allowed, as long as it is not boring.

Strappy sandals

You don't always have to reinvent the wheel, especially not if you hit a fashionable hit a year ago. With that in mind: Welcome back, Strappy Sandals. The filigree strappy sandals were THE mega trend last summer and literally flooded our Instagram feed. Whether with a cute little dress, boyfriend jeans or a power suit – in 2020 no one could get past them. In 2021 we will continue to rely on fine belts – but will get even more out of them. The colors are gaudy, the straps are draped even more artfully and those who like it comfortable can simply do without heels this year. Everything can, nothing has to – huh, that's how we love fashion, right?

Thong heels

In 2020 they slowly fought their way back into the hearts of fashionistas, in 2021 they will have fully arrived there. Flip flops are back – and this time even suitable for salons. Because while the Scandinavians in particular still resorted to the classic models made of rubber last summer and thus gave their look that touch of vacation, the plastic kicks are now getting a trendy update with a new name. High fashion brands such as Roger Vivier, Dsquared2 or Acne Studios rely on flip flops or thong heels, made of buttery soft leather and with elegant kitten heels or cool block heels.

Ballerinas

It is well known that men are not big fans, but we are even more so. We're talking about one of the most discussed shoe models: the ballerinas! The fluffy slip-on shoe has disappeared from the trend radar somewhat in recent years, but will be all the more present again in 2021, as the designers of Celine, Dior and Max Mara have just shown at their shows. If you want to support this fashion comeback, you can now put ballerinas in their most classic form on the shopping list – with a round or slightly angular cap and cute bow or strappy detail.
