For the past 15 years, the sign that originally described the Gilgenberg train station in the community of Waldkirchen has been stored in the attic of a local collector. A rest area was built there along with the cycle path – and the sign has now been re-attached. “It’s nice that there are attentive roommates who help to preserve our cultural heritage,” praised Mayor Rudolf Hofstätter. The wooden construction of the new rest area is also reminiscent of the former station shed.
