Mourning for son Emilio will “never end”

Simone Mecky-Ballack thanks Instagram for her happy birthday. At the same time, her big day reminded her of her son Emilio.
On the occasion of her 46th birthday on February 16, Simone Mecky-Ballack has touching and personal words of gratitude shared on Instagram. “Family and friends are the most important things at this time… life and laughter…” she writes about a whole series of photos from her big day, which she celebrated at Alpenresort Schwarz in Obermieming, Austria. She is always radiant and in a tight pink and white mini dress with a boat neckline and numerous balloons. Friends and relatives can also be seen in the pictures.
“Thank you for letting so many people understand that you can’t and shouldn’t cry all day!” she continued. You have many reasons to be happy again. However, the period of mourning for her late son Emilio would “never end”. “Every birthday brings me a little closer to my Emilio,” says Mecky-Ballack.
The tragic accident
Emilio Ballack (2002-2021) died in a quad bike accident in Portugal on August 5, 2021 at the age of just 18. Along with two other sons, he comes from Simone Mecky-Ballack’s first marriage (2008-2012) to former national soccer player Michael Ballack (45).
