Two years ago, Emilio Ballack was suddenly torn from his still young life. The pain and grief for her son are still deep with Simone Mecky-Ballack. The time on the anniversary of his death is particularly difficult.

August 5, 2023 marked the second anniversary of her son’s death. Because of her new relationship with hotel entrepreneur Heiko Grote, Mecky-Ballack is even more in the limelight than usual. Michael Ballack’s ex-wife would rather spend the time around the anniversary of her son’s death – away from the public eye. She explains to “Bild”: “I don’t want to spend Emilio’s death alone and not in Germany. I want to go away.” Her new partner Grote adds: “We’re going to Lake Garda.”

They leave it open why Simone and Heiko decided to go to Lake Garda. According to “Bild”, Simone’s new friend is now particularly close to her side to give her comfort and support. In her Instagram story on August 6th and 7th, Mecky-Ballack shares videos of the hotel room and her view of the beautiful lake. Otherwise it remains quiet on your account.
After the death of Emilio (†): Simone’s sons give her the strength to continue living
Even though he’s been dead for two years, Simone can still feel Emilio’s presence. A year ago she admitted: “Sometimes I think he’s just around the corner.” At the time, her other two sons, Louis, 21, and Jordi, 18, gave her hope. They were “the reason my life went on,” explained Simone. And further: “But it still costs me a lot of energy every day to keep living, to be there for the two of them.”
