Israel’s military reports 250 soldiers killed

The Israeli army’s ground offensive in the Gaza Strip has been underway for five months. The 250th soldier was killed during an operation in the Shifa hospital. The military suspects there are “senior Hamas terrorists” in the clinic.
According to the army, 250 Israeli soldiers have been killed since the ground offensive in the Gaza Strip began on October 27th. The 250th soldier was killed early this morning during an operation at Al-Shifa Hospital in the city of Gaza, Israeli security sources said. The Israeli army said it launched a “targeted” operation in the area of the hospital that night because there were indications that the building was being used by “senior Hamas terrorists.”
In the morning, the population was called upon to evacuate the area around the largest hospital in the Gaza Strip. Eyewitnesses said there were airstrikes in the al-Rimal district, where the hospital is located. Dozens of tanks were also positioned around the hospital building.
The Israeli army has repeatedly attacked hospitals in the Gaza Strip since the war against the Islamist Palestinian organization Hamas began on October 7th. The army accuses Hamas of using the clinics as military positions – and of abusing civilians as human shields.
According to Israeli information, around 1,160 people were killed in the Hamas attack on October 7th and around 250 others were taken hostage in the Gaza Strip. Since then, Israel has taken massive military action in the Gaza Strip and launched a ground offensive on October 27th. The Israeli strikes have killed more than 31,700 people so far, according to the Hamas-controlled Ministry of Health, which cannot be independently verified.
