After more than a month of waiting, season 2 of “Sissi” is finally available in French on the Salto platform, to the delight of fans of the historic series.
In December 2021, TF1 launched the broadcast of Sissi, a daring German series which returned with modernity to the history and destiny of the famous empress. Far from the watered down films carried by Romy Schneider, this new adaptation offered a much more sulfurous version which had convinced the public of the chain.
Almost a year later, Salto uploaded Sissi season 2 to its streaming platform. On December 19, fans were able to find the continuations of the adventures of the imperial couple embodied by Dominique Devenport and Jannik Schümann.
Unfortunately for them, this season 2 being offered almost simultaneously with Germany, the episodes were only available in the original version with subtitles. Many were therefore disappointed not to be able to discover the series in the best conditions.
Salto, however, has just announced that season 2 of Sissi is now available in French. Platform subscribers will therefore be able to discover the many twists and turns that will punctuate the lives of Sissi and Franz.
In this second burst of episodes, the imperial couple welcomes an heir to the throne. A moment of joy for Sissi and Franz that is soon eclipsed by new power struggles in Europe: Bismarck threatens to drag Austria into a new war.
Despite talents as a diplomat that are no longer to be demonstrated, Sissi is relegated behind the scenes. By going to Hungary for a political mission, the young woman rediscovers the lightness of her childhood, for the first time in years.
She enjoys the endless wilderness of the Hungarian puszta, the hard and simple life of the people and a man with whom she can share her passion for horses. As Franz discovers his sensitive side at the court of Vienna, Sissi struggles with an increasingly intense attraction to Count Andrassy.
