The separation between ski queen Petra Vlhova (28) and her coach Livio Magoni caused big waves last summer. We remember: The Italian called them an “iron” because of their tough driving style. That was clearly too much for Vlhova, she parted ways with her successful coach. She didn’t want to say much more at the time.
But that’s changing now! In her biography “Petra”, which will be published in November, Vlhova mercilessly settles accounts with Magoni. The Slovak medium sme.sk has already published some explosive passages that have been translated by sportsnews.bz. It starts off gently. «The first three years with coach Livio Magoni were incredible. He showed me a new world. He showed me how to function best, ”writes Vlhova.
Then it gets down to business. “Gradually, however, it began to deteriorate and the last season with him was a massacre.”
“I roared for three hours”
A massacre? Vlhova explains that Magoni was never happy with her – he hurt her and the people on her team. “He treated me like a machine. Not like a woman who also has feelings, who has her days and who sometimes fails. It was sick, ”says Vlhova. The overall World Cup winner last winter writes that she would have lasted a maximum of two years with Magoni.
When Vlhova then read the «iron» article in the «Corriere della Sera» newspaper towards the end of the season, she was freaked out. «I broke down mentally. I yelled for about three hours, I couldn’t stop it. I called my brother to end this with Livio. I swore violently on the phone. At that moment I hated him, he ruined all the joys of overall World Cup victory. “
