There is a lot of movement this summer in the world of sports TV rights from MagentaTV, DAZN, RTL, ARD and Co., because, among other things, the new sports streaming service Dyn will start in August.

The Handball Bundesliga is currently in the final stages of the 2022/23 season. The forthcoming final matchday will also mark the league’s farewell to its previous TV partner. Because Sky is leaving after the end of the season and will be replaced by the new streaming service Dyn from August.
Handball changes from Sky to Dyn
The Super Cup on August 23 will be the premiere for the new handball home and the very first live broadcast of the new sports streaming provider Dyn itself. Selected games can still be seen live on free TV on ARD. After all, Dyn will offer an app for Sky Q, so you can continue to follow the games via your Sky receiver. The Dyn subscription for Sky subscribers should also be cheaper. Details about this offer are still pending.
The second big change is in American football. Here, RTL snatched the NFL from long-term TV partner ProSiebenSat.1.
NFL moves in free TV from ProSieben to RTL
A significant part of the ProSieben football team is also moving to RTL, including the experts Patrick “Coach” Esume, Markus Kuhn, Sebastian Vollmer, Björn Werner and presenter Jan Stecker. The regular season of the NFL will start in September 2023. From then on, RTL will show up to two games live every Sunday.
In contrast to ProSieben, DAZN has stayed on board as a streaming partner. There are significantly more live games there, such as all Thursday, Sunday and Monday night football games. The Super Bowl runs on RTL and DAZN.
Women’s Bundesliga divided among four providers
The women’s soccer Bundesliga has so far been shown on Eurosport and MagentaTV. From 2023, a new mix of channels and platforms is planned. Sport1 was able to secure a live game on Monday. ARD and ZDF will broadcast ten more encounters live.
All 132 games are still available on MagentaTV, but at the same time also on DAZN from the start of the season in September. The two payment providers share the transmission rights, but both broadcast all games.
