On September 28, 2006, American viewers discovered Ugly Betty, a comedy series adapted from a Colombian telenovela. Here, the public followed the journey of the sympathetic Betty Suarez, a bright young woman with a rather unsightly physique and questionable style of dress, within the editorial staff of one of the biggest fashion magazines in the world, in New York. Coming from a humble background, Betty lived under the same roof as her father, sister and nephew. She also had to compose every day with the neuroses of his boss Daniel, Wilhelmina, the latter’s rival, and his mocking colleagues Amanda and Marc.

After four seasons and 85 episodes, the fiction ended on April 14, 2010 across the Atlantic.. America Ferrera (Betty) lent her voice to the character of Astrid in the saga Dragons At the movie theater. She was the headliner of the series Superstore and guest starred on numerous programs. She is married to Ryan Piers Williams and they have two children. Eric Mabius (Daniel) has meanwhile chained the roles on the small screen (series and TV movies). Ana Ortiz (Hilda) found success ins Devious Maids and appeared in several series. She attempted a comeback in Whiskey Ridercanceled after one year. She then bounced back into Love, Victor (Disney+).

What happens to the actors of Ugly Betty?

Mark Indelicato (Justin) has been pretty quiet ever since Ugly Betty but play today in WithLove, visible on Amazon Prime Video only in the USA for the moment. Tony Plana (Igniacio) has not been idle and has also multiplied appearances in the seriesespecially in Lethal Weapon, Desperate Housewives, Madam Secretary. He even visited America Ferrera in Superstore. Becky Newton (Amanda) tried to make several comebacks to the front of the stage… which did not come to fruition. She’s coming back to the show soon The Lincoln Defense on Netflix (May 13, 2022). Michael Urie (Mark) went through Modern Family or Younger. He was in 2021 the star of Let romance blow Netflix’s First Gay Christmas Romantic Comedy. At last, vanessa williams (Wilhelmina) intervened in Desperate Housewives then participated in minor projects. She is nevertheless recently back on the boards on Broadway.
