A compact cell phone with a large display? Oppo has achieved this feat. The Chinese manufacturer is showing an “foldable iPhone 13 mini” at its Inno Day.

Imagine there was a cell phone that was as compact as the iPhone 13 Mini and still had a screen larger than the iPhone 13 Pro Max. Just a dream – not anymore. Because Oppo recently presented such a mobile phone with the Find N at its Inno Day.
The smartphone is a folding phone in the style of the Galaxy Z Fold 3. But when folded, it is hardly larger than the iPhone 13 mini at 132.6 x 73 millimeters – but at 15.9 millimeters more than twice as thick. But there is a reason! If you unfold the folding phone, you are no longer looking at a 5.5-inch screen, but at a 7.1-inch screen.
No more gap
Corresponding folding cell phones in book format are nothing new. Samsung has been offering such models for several years, and Huawei and Xiaomi also have such products on offer. As compact as the Oppo Find N, when folded, it wasn’t until now.
Oppo also promises that there is no gap between the two halves of the display when folded, so that the internal display is optimally protected. A new hinge technology should make this possible.
Low price
The price is also surprisingly low: According to the manufacturer, the cell phone will be available in China from December 23 at prices starting at around 1,073 euros. For this purpose, you only get Samsung’s foldable flip phone Galaxy Z Flip 3 in this country. It is not yet known whether and when the cell phone will appear in Germany.
Technically, the Oppo Find N is also in the upper class. A Snapdragon 888 with up to 12 gigabytes of RAM acts as the processor. The internal display can reproduce images at up to 120 Hertz and the battery charges comparatively quickly with 33 watts.
