Snapchat
continues its efforts to improve the integration of augmented reality on its application.

The social media giant has just rolled out a new feature that allows you to create augmented reality filters on monuments or statues.

Custom AR filters

The idyll between Snapchat and augmented reality continues. Announced last December, the feature “ Custom Landmarkers finally arrives in the application. A new option that allows users of the social network to create their own AR experiences via the Lens Studio from points of interest such as statues, storefronts and other monuments in their neighborhood. They can then share them with their community via their filter creator profile or with physical Snapcodes placed on the place or building in question.

This will allow 250,000 filter creators to place Lenses on the local places they love to tell richer stories to their community via augmented reality “says Snapchat in its blog post. Those in the Snap Lens network have also received early access to this feature and have already completed several personalized experiences. Remember that the social media giant moderates each content and that all custom Lenses must first be approved before they are published.
