Bianca Gisler finished 8th in the slopestyle semifinals at the Laax Open and is in the final. The Australian Tess Coady gets the best value of the day.
Metal rails, monstrous kickers and a quarter pipe at the end – the hip-hop beats are omnipresent. This is how the slopestyle course at the foot of the “Crap Sogn Gion” in Laax presents itself. The mission: Reach the top 8 with flow, creativity and variety and thus reach the final on Saturday.
Gisler qualified for the final as 8th
Bianca Gisler finished the women’s slopestyle semi-final at the Laax Open in 8th place, just qualifying for the final on Saturday. In the second run, the 18-year-old from Graubünden improved significantly and was rewarded with a score of 67.61 points. She ended her run with a stylish “handplant” on the quarterpipe, which was well worth seeing.
Sina Candrian, who started in Laax despite having already retired, also put in a good performance. But the final missed the final: in the end she was a measly 0.5 points behind Gisler, 9th place for Candrian. Mona Danuser (21st), Lena Müller (23rd) and Ariane Burri (26th) also missed the final. The Australian Tess Coady secured the day’s victory. For her 2nd run she received 79.35 points. Snowboard luminary Anna Gasser (AUT) took second place in qualifying with 78.81 points.
This is how it goes
After the qualification is before the final: already on Saturday, the best qualifiers will throw themselves down the slopestyle course and the halfpipe.
