Social Builder opens the digital doors to women


The association, which has supported 75,000 people in ten years, has just launched a new program to help young entrepreneurs digitize their activity.

Women, as we know, are under-represented in digital professions: only 16% in the sector while they occupy 55% of jobs in the tertiary sector. And the disappearance of maths in the common core of lessons in first and final year in high school – which Emmanuel Macron has promised to correct as soon as the start of the school year in September – does not help by reducing even more the number of baccalaureate graduates who are oriented towards technical courses.

A real problem for Emmanuelle Larroque, who in 2011 created Social Builder, the first expert association in the support and inclusion of women in the digital world. “There are plenty of jobs and profiles available, and the Covid crisis has accelerated awareness”, explains this graduate of Neoma Business School and Paris Dauphine University in the sociology of innovation.
