Societe Generale: Societe Generale and Crédit du Nord launch new solutions to support customers in their CSR approach

Societe Generale and Crédit du Nord are launching a comprehensive support system for companies, SMEs/ETIs, associations and local authorities to enable them to develop a more sustainable model. They offer them new consulting and financing solutions in conjunction with partners1 reference.

The environmental and social loan

This mechanism makes it possible to finance sustainable development projects (improvement of energy efficiency; renewable energies; low-carbon transport, treatment and recycling of waste and water, etc.) and societal projects (financing of companies and associations with a social and solidarity vocation, financing education and training, financing of social housing, etc.).

Impact lending in partnership with EcoVadis and EthiFinance

It allows companies, associations and local authorities to have an ESG index2 and decide on their strategic actions to improve their Environmental and Social impact. The interest rate decreases if the client achieves the objectives set when the loan was set up.

EcoVadis operates a global CSR performance assessment and pooling platform used by more than 85,000 companies of all sizes in 160 countries.

EthiFinance is an independent non-financial analysis and consulting agency specializing in the issues of Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) and the Social Responsibility of Companies and Communities.

A relationship with key players

Societe Generale and Crédit du Nord have also teamed up with other reference partners to provide their customers with a quality assessment service.

Carbo is an innovative and educational online solution to measure and reduce the carbon footprint of individuals and companies in order to contribute to the climate effort.

With more than one million works supported since its creation, Economie d’Energie is the leading facilitator of energy projects. It supports individuals, companies, social landlords, local authorities in their energy renovation initiatives and in meeting regulatory obligations in this area.

Dedicated teams in the regions

These offers are supplemented by a local support system based on identified referents. In addition, the advisers of the two banks benefit from an extensive training program dedicated to CSR with a focus on the energy transition provided by the firm Enea.3.

This new system for offering financing and partnerships is a concrete illustration of the DNA of the new bank which will result from the merger of the Societe Generale and Crédit du Nord networks: to be as close as possible to its customers at the heart of the territories and to place the banker as a privileged partner in the company’s strategic thinking.

1 – The names of the offers, certain characteristics and marketing dates may vary depending on the network.

2 – Environmental, Social and Governance

3 – Enea is an international strategy consulting firm specializing in energy transition and adaptation to climate change.
