Issy-les-Moulineaux, February 6, 2024

Sodexo is proud to join the 346 highest-rated companies in the CDP* climate ranking, among more than 21,000 participating companies which represent two-thirds of global market capitalization. This recognition by the CDP highlights Sodexo’s progress in achieving its climate ambition, both in terms of performance and transparency.

In line with its ambition to be the world leader in sustainable food and quality experiences, and in the face of the climate emergency, Sodexo is accelerating its actions aimed at reducing its environmental impact. The CDP recognizes the Group’s ambitious trajectory and the commitment of its employees to achieve its Net Zero 2040 objective, approved by the SBTi. The application of the most recent standards and tools to rigorously monitor climate performance as well as transparent communication on the subject allow Sodexo to have a positive impact across its entire value chain.

“We are pleased to be recognized by the CDP for our sustainable climate commitment. This enhances the daily work of our teams alongside our customers and suppliers, locally and globally. I am convinced that our actions and our vision of sustainability as a performance lever will allow us to achieve our ambitious objectives. Engaging all our stakeholders is at the heart of our project to have a positive impact on our entire value chain, and to be the world leader in sustainable food. »

explains Anna Notarianni, General Secretary and Impact Director of the Sodexo Group.

Sodexo’s climate ambition is based on 4 key levers identified to significantly reduce carbon emissions:

  • Products:

by promoting sustainable agricultural practices, supporting suppliers’ efforts to reduce their carbon emissions and continuing to develop local supplies and short circuits.

  • Recipes :

by creating new recipes so that 70% of its main dishes are labeled “low carbon” by 2030 (0.9 kg CO2e or less).

  • Energy :

by implementing less energy-intensive preparation methods and achieving 100% renewable electricity in its direct operations by 2025.

  • Waste :

by massively deploying the WasteWatch program, Sodexo’s food waste prevention program.
