Sofia Vergara has filed for an injunction against a stalker. The actress was now successful in court.

“Modern Family” star Sofia Vergara (51) has obtained a five-year injunction against a stalker. This is reported by “Sky News”. Accordingly, last Wednesday a judge granted the request of Vergara’s lawyers, who had requested a maximum period of five years.

Vergara applied for the injunction for herself and her son Manolo (32) last month. The actress said the 34-year-old suspect had repeatedly trespassed near her home in Los Angeles, according to Sky News. The man was already sentenced to 32 months in prison in 2021 for vandalizing Vergara’s house. After he was released from prison on parole, he allegedly approached Vergara’s home in a gated community again.

In court documents, which are available to the US celebrity portal “TMZ”., the 51-year-old stated that the man is a “mentally unstable stalker” who “delusionally believes that he knows her personally and has a relationship with her and her family.” Finally, he is said to have written her a letter in which he announced that he would “see her very soon”. His “aggressive and harassing behavior” frightened her and she worried for her safety, Vergara said. A judge recently granted a temporary restraining order requiring the man to stay at least 300 feet away from the actress and her son and banning him from contacting her.

With the end of love in the headlines

Sofia Vergara’s son Manolo comes from her first marriage to Joe Gonzalez. In July 2023 it was announced that Vergara was divorcing “Magic Mike” star Joe Manganiello (46). A joint statement said: “We have made the difficult decision to divorce. As two people who love and care for each other deeply, we politely ask for respect for our privacy as we navigate this new phase of our lives .” Officially, the divorce was due to “irreconcilable differences.”
