SOKO Munich: Date announced for parting after more than 40 years

After 668 episodes and over four decades, the "SOKO Munich" series will end this year. The farewell date has now been announced by ZDF.

Almost exactly 42 years to the day after the very first episode of the crime series "SOKO 5113" drew an audience of millions in front of the screens on January 2, 1978, the final episode of the format, which has since been renamed "SOKO Munich", will be shown this year. As ZDF has since announced, the full-length episode "The Countdown" will be shown on December 29, 2020 at 8:15 pm. After 668 episodes it will be over.

That happened in the last TV mission

First detective chief commissioner Arthur Bauer (Gerd Silberbauer, 67) wants to retire and invites his colleagues to walk out. When a woman is threatened by an armed man not far from the selected beer garden, Chief Detective Dominik Morgenstern (Joscha Kiefer, 37) intervenes.

He fatally injured the attacker in pursuit and was suspended from duty. Meanwhile, while searching the apartment of the previously threatened woman, his colleagues make an eerie discovery: In addition to a corpse, they come across evidence of a planned attack.
