At CES 2024, Jackery is presenting a new emergency generator solution for homeowners that aims to impress with a large capacity of up to 10 kilowatt hours and a high output power. The manufacturer also has a new product for camping and outdoor enthusiasts: The roof tent offers you a place to sleep and at the same time provides you with solar energy for up to two weeks. And in a sense it is the 2024 edition of the “Jackery solar tent”.

The solar generator home kit uses the solar generator 2000 Plus together with expansion batteries and a transfer switch. This achieves a maximum capacity of 10 kilowatt hours with an output power of 3,000 watts. Thanks to the simple “plug and play” design, the storage system is quickly installed and ready for use straight away.

We have already taken a closer look at the Jackery Explorer 2000 Plus in the test. We particularly noticed the high capacity and the fast charging via the socket. Since it is primarily designed for indoor use, there is no IP certification against dust or moisture penetration.

If a power failure is detected, an automatic switchover takes place in just 20 milliseconds. This is intended to protect electronic devices from damage. For example, if you have a compatible balcony power station, the transfer switch can store excess solar power in the power station.

An emergency generator is ideal for running the most important household appliances such as refrigerators, heating or lighting with electricity during a power outage. It also offers you the opportunity to save on electricity costs and to provide you with energy independently of the public power grid.

The innovative roof tent with self-sufficient power supply

The new Jackery Rooftop Tent solar generator is equipped with a 1,000-watt solar panel and a portable power station with a capacity of 1,264 watt-hours. Inside there is a memory foam mattress as well as dimmable and colored lighting. A breathable and waterproof fabric is used for darkening.

When there is good sunlight, the solar panels achieve an average capacity of up to 5 kilowatt hours per day. According to the manufacturer, you can do without a mains-dependent power supply for up to two weeks. The total capacity is sufficient, for example, to operate a coffee machine for 3.7 hours or an electric grill for 3.4 hours.

Since you install the roof tent on your car, the purchase is particularly interesting if you only want to go on camping holidays or go on outdoor trips every now and then. Overall, compared to buying a motorhome, you get a much cheaper price and still don’t have to rely on accommodation such as a hotel or holiday apartment.
