The chaos surrounding the sudden cancellation of the old Jedermann ensemble does not seem to have harmed the festival. On the contrary: there is a real grimness, especially about the tickets for everyone next summer.
Even during the current advance sales, there are more requests than tickets for the performances with Philipp Hochmair. From the first to the last performance, all dates are reserved! “Compared to the already very successful previous year, the ticket office has once again recorded a double-digit percentage increase in orders received,” is what the festival says about all orders received overall. This corresponds to an order volume last seen in January of the anniversary year 2020 – before the start of the pandemic. International orders from currently 62 nations are also back to the pre-pandemic value. After Austria, the Salzburg Festival receives the most orders from Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France, the USA, Japan and Great Britain.
