Solvay: record underlying EBITDA in the 1st quarter


(CercleFinance.com) – Solvay publishes for the first quarter of 2022 an underlying net profit up 54% to 369 million euros and a record underlying EBITDA of 712 million, up 20% organically, and this despite cost inflation.

Net sales also reached a new record at more than three billion, up 26.1% organically, with double-digit growth in all activities and regions, and thanks to higher prices (+20 %) like volumes (+6%).

For 2022 as a whole, the Belgian chemical company says it is now targeting rising underlying EBITDA ‘in the mid to high single digit range’ and free cash flow from continuing operations which should exceed 650 million euros. euros.
