In April 2021, Sony launched its own video-on-demand service Bravia Coreoffering feature films from Sony Pictures in 4K on some of its ranges of televisions and even smartphones. No doubt in the hope of democratizing the platform, we are learning along the way. PlayStation Blog thatshe will be renamed Sony Pictures Core at the start of 2024 on these devices and especially that an application of the same name is released today on PS5 and PS4. It will allow you to buy or rent films, some of which are previews such as Gran Turismo in France, which is nevertheless very recent. Where this interests us more is that the members PlayStation Plus subscribers to the formula Premium will have access to a catalog including certain blockbusters from the catalog Sony Pictures Core. Once you have registered* for the Sony Pictures Core service on PS4 or PS5, you will be able to buy or rent up to 2,000 movies** directly from your console. From the launch, you will find successful blockbusters** such as Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Uncharted, Equalizer, The Challenge, Bullet Train and Ghostbusters: Legacyamong others.
With Sony Pictures Core on PS5 and PS4, you will be able to purchase a selection of Sony Pictures films directly on your console duringan exclusive early access period. In some regions, such as Francethe United Kingdom, Germany and Japan, the first film available in early access will be Gran Turismo. This title is inspired by the incredible true story of a group of outsiders: a gamer from the middle class, a failed former racing driver and an idealistic executive working in the world of motor sports. Together, they risk everything to find a place in one of the most elite sporting circles in the world.
The film, Gran Turismo, is currently available on Sony Pictures Core in the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, and will be available in other regions soon. By purchasing this movie on Sony Pictures Core, you will receive Credits*** to use in the GT7 game, in particular to buy certain cars appearing on the screen. The film is available in IMAX Enhanced, for an optimal viewing experience with exceptional quality on PS5 and PS4 directly in your living room****.
PlayStation Plus Premium/Deluxe subscribers will also be able to access a tailor-made catalog of up to 100 films***** from the Sony Pictures library, via the Sony Pictures Core app. This catalog, which will be ad-free and updated periodically, includes films such as Looper, Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV, Elysium and Resident Evil: Damnation.** PlayStation Plus subscribers will also benefit from additional benefitsso keep an eye on our news!
