Launched last year with a catalog divided between headphones and monitors, the Inzone range from Sony welcomes two new products: the Inzone Buds and the Inzone H5 headphones.
Born from the collaboration with the Fnatic eSports team and presented for the occasion in the team’s premises in Berlin, the audio products from the Inzone catalog attempt to “pushing e-sports performance to its best level”. The Inzone H5 helmet replaces the Inzone H7 and supports the H3 and H9 models.
The Inzone Buds are the real novelty and directly compete with gaming intras from Razer, Logitech or Epos.
Inzone Buds: wireless headphones designed for gaming
Widely known for its true wireless, Sony is taking advantage of its Inzone brand to launch its wireless headphones specialized in gaming, the Inzone Buds, while relying on its great expertise in the field of audio.
These first Inzone headphones also present themselves as a high-end alternative to similar products on the gaming market. The Inzone Buds notably offer 360 Spatial Sound for spatialized sound which draws on Sony’s expertise to obtain a “ enhanced sound field “.
The Japanese manufacturer offers here to optimize the surround rendering using two methods. First with the 360 Spatial Sound Personalize smartphone application, by creating a personalized listening profile using a simple photograph of the ears, and then with the Inzone Hub application on PC. This allows you to broadcast test sounds and analyze, thanks to the integrated microphones, the sound filling of the ear canals in order to personalize the listening experience accordingly.
Sony also mentions the use of Dynamic Driver low level of distortion possible and “ particularly clear sound “. Note that Dynamic Driver X is already used in the WF-1000XM5 headphones.
The capabilities and features of Inzone Buds don’t stop there. Sony also communicates that its intras are the most autonomous on the market, with 12 hours of continuous listening and up to 24 hours with the box, all while maintaining a latency of less than 30 milliseconds thanks to their USB adapter. -VS.
We then find an active noise reduction feature to eliminate background noise, but also AI noise reduction for the microphone to capture voice effectively, even in noisy environments. Finally, it will be possible to personalize the tactile operation of the headphones to have the most intuitive experience possible. These brand new headphones are not cheap, however, you will have to pay 220 euros to offer them to you.
Inzone H5: a newcomer to make the range more affordable
Alongside its main announcement regarding the Inzone Buds, Sony announced the imminent launch of the Inzone H5 wireless headphones as well as a new black color for the Inzone H9.
The Inzone H5 will be a little more affordable than its predecessor, with a price set at 150 euros. However, it will not ignore an elegant, modern and lightweight design, nor the features expected on this type of product, namely dual connectivity (2.4 GHz RF and 3.5 millimeter jack), the 360 Spatial Sound for Gaming, AI-based noise reduction and bi-directional microphone.
In terms of autonomy, we can count on a battery life of 28 hours, we have already seen better. On the other hand, unlike the H7 which it succeeds, the H5 does not offer Bluetooth connectivity. The latter was however very practical on the H7, since it was possible to be connected simultaneously via RF 2.4 GHz thanks to the adapter and via Bluetooth.
