In I Love America, There is no such thing as coincidence. If the filmmaker is interested in this story it is because it is also hers. Daughter of Marie Laforêt, Lisa Azuelos delivers herself in this love letter to her mother disguised as a romantic comedy.

At first, it was really an American comedyshe explains in the press kit. Besides, I wrote the first draft in English. It was really a Tinder relationship comedy that I had started exploring in LA. I didn’t think I was going to talk about my childhood. Even less of my mother.”
