Many Christmas markets have specially designed cups for their mulled wine – a special souvenir.

A cozy evening at the Christmas market creates the temptation to take the mulled wine cups home as souvenirs, especially if the deposit has already been paid for them. But is that actually allowed?

A cozy evening at the Christmas market with roasted almonds and warming mulled wine is simply part of the festive tradition in December. In addition to the culinary delights, the lovingly designed mulled wine cups also attract visitors as sought-after souvenirs. The temptation to take one of these festive cups home with you as a souvenir of the good time is great, especially if a deposit has already been paid for it. Many mulled wine fans are even convinced that the deposit will be used to offset the purchase price for the cups in an emergency – but is that really the case?
