Satchel and Jackson Lee, the children of director Spike Lee, are the ambassadors for the 78th edition of the Golden Globes. A historic choice.

The children of director Spike Lee (63, "BlacKkKlansman") and his wife Tonya Lewis (54) make history at this year's Golden Globes on February 28 in two ways. As the proud father announced via his official Instagram account, both daughter Satchel (26) and son Jackson (24) have been appointed ambassadors for the 78th edition of the award ceremony.

This news is special for two reasons: This honor has never been bestowed on an African-American man, according to the Golden Globes homepage. And the fact that an African-American siblings were chosen together is therefore a novelty. "We are proud to welcome Satchel and Jackson to the illustrious circle of previous Golden Globes ambassadors," said Ali Sar, President of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA).

These tasks await the siblings

"As a creative visionary, our father taught Satchel and me the importance of entertainment as a catalyst for cultural change," Jackson Lee is quoted as saying. One of your primary responsibilities as ambassadors is to select a charitable organization on behalf of the Golden Globes and to draw the attention of the global audience to it. They also help to hand over the prizes during the event. How exactly this will take place during the corona pandemic has not yet been determined.

Children of stars are always chosen as ambassadors for the Golden Globes. Satchel and Jackson Lee inherit Dylan (24) and Paris Brosnan (19), the two youngest sons of the former "Bond" actor Pierce Brosnan (67) and his wife Keely Shaye Smith (57). Previously, this honor was given to Idris Elbas (48) daughter Isan (19) or Dwayne Johnson's (48) daughter Simone Garcia Johnson (19).
