Mega salary should inspire Haaland for BVB
Erling Haaland is perhaps the most sought-after professional in world football. The 21-year-old is still playing for Borussia Dortmund and the Bundesliga club is apparently willing to keep his striker by all means. Which, according to one report, means a massive pay rise above all.
At Borussia Dortmund, of course, they would prefer Erling Haaland to simply fulfill his contract, which runs until the summer of 2024. The fact that this case actually occurs and the Norwegian storms for the Bundesliga club for another two and a half years is, however, considered to be ruled out. The desires of the largest and financially strongest clubs in the world are too great, and transfer income is also part of BVB’s business model. At Haaland, however, Borussia would like to wait a little longer until the 21-year-old wears the black and yellow jersey for the last time.
His advisor Mino Raiola flirted in various interviews in recent weeks with the fact that his client could choose his employer almost freely. In view of his impressive performance data – for Dortmund Haaland has 76 goals and 20 assists in 75 competitive games – a realistic assessment. With a significant increase in salary, BVB would like to convince its noble attacker, according to “Sport Bild”, to play for Westphalia beyond the coming summer.
According to the report, Borussia transfers eight million euros a year to Haaland, and in future it should double that: 16 million euros annual salary. There is also a similar lucrative offer from Puma, the BVB supplier. According to “Sport Bild”, the sporting goods manufacturer is ready to invest another eight million euros a year when Haaland’s contract with Nike expires at the end of this year, which has so far brought him one million euros a year. With this, the Norwegian would earn 24 million euros annually in the future. This would put him in a salary class with Bundesliga top earner Robert Lewandowski, who, according to ntv.de information, should also come to this sum.

The talks are planned for January, as Dortmund’s managing director Hans-Joachim Watzke has repeatedly stated. What is new is the financial dimension that the club apparently wants to offer its superstar. Because the top earner at the reigning DFB Cup winner is, according to “Sport Bild”, captain Marco Reus with around twelve million euros. Haaland would clearly exceed that. Which should also have to do with the fact that there is an exit clause in the Norwegian’s working paper, the value of which is said to be less than 100 million euros. However, its market value is estimated to be significantly higher.
The Dortmund management team is also preparing for the event that Haaland leaves the club in the summer of 2022. “If he says he wants to do something new, that’s okay,” said Watzke recently, with the caveat: “Nevertheless, Erling is well advised to consider for yourself whether another year of BVB would be good for his development. ” Real Madrid and FC Barcelona are usually named as the most eager interested parties, and FC Bayern is also said to be keeping a close eye on the situation.
Finding an equivalent replacement is almost impossible in view of Haaland’s outstanding quality. “Sport Bild” names two names that are to be discussed in Dortmund. Sebastién Haller from Ajax Amsterdam, who, with his ten goals in six Champions League group games, is responsible for ensuring that BVB only appears in the Europa League after the turn of the year.
