Sports tips: make your workout routine – so it'll work

Regular exercise was probably the number one New Year's resolution for many couch potatoes. After all, regular training not only keeps your body and mind fit, it also makes you happy. January is almost over: it is high time to finally get active and overcome the inner bastard. The sports program must become routine.

Find a sport that is fun

If you want to exercise regularly, you should have fun doing it. It is therefore important to choose the right sport for you. For example, if you like to work out with music, you should take this into account when choosing and attend a corresponding course. It is best to consider in advance whether you would rather train alone or in a group and whether the whole thing should take place indoors or outdoors.

Basically, it makes sense not to be bound to a contract right away. Instead, try out several training methods to be on the safe side. Otherwise, the motivation may go away quickly.

Set concrete goals

There is no question that regular exercise is good for health and well-being. In order to increase the motivation even more, beginners should set a specific goal. For example, jogging five kilometers in a row, losing three kilograms or defining the muscles on the thighs. It is only important that the goal is realistic and does not want to be achieved overnight.

Make an appointment for sport

If you do not like to train alone, you should look for a reliable sparring partner. Training together is not only more fun, it also increases motivation. Because if you have a fixed date for sport every week, you automatically increase the inhibition threshold to cancel the training spontaneously. And a little bit of competition also spurs us on.

Plan your time for sports well

In order to keep the selection of potential excuses as small as possible, it is advisable to remove all possible obstacles in advance. For example, if you sign up for a gym membership on the other side of town, you probably won't open up too often. So be sure to choose a studio that is close to your work, home, or on the way there.

It also helps to set fixed appointments. Fixed sports days are ideal to stay on the ball. Because then partners, friends or roommates know that you are already scheduled at the appropriate times.

To provide variety

Variety in training not only brings more joy, but also benefits the stressed muscles. It is therefore advisable to try something new more often during your workout. This presents body and mind with challenges, sets new impulses and demands other muscle groups. The change between endurance and strength training is particularly efficient.
